Stop those pesky birds from nesting and blocking up your chimney.
From years of experience dealing with this common problem Chim Chim has designed our own bird proofing system to keep your chimney and logfire clear and safe.
We offer two different styles of bird proofing; Bird Netting and ADD Cowl.
Bird netting
This is a Stainless Steel mesh sock that fits snugly over the existing Cowl and is secured to the flue. Since this is Stainless Steel, It should not rust nor should it burn out over time.
Please Note: The Bird Netting can only be applied to a fixed cowl. If you have a rotating cowl (one which moves with the wind direction) we would first need to replace the cowl,
before bird netting can be installed.

ADD cowl
(ADD = anti down draught)
This is a cowl of our own design, made from stainless steel, with built-in bird proofing.
The ADD will also reduce wind noise and rattling within the chimney, and will not rust or burn out over time.
The ADD will replace the existing cowl and is secured to the flue. We find that the ADD Cowl is a much better long- term solution for all things bird and wind related.

IMPORTANT Please take note:
Any and all work which requires us to be working at heights (particularly where roof access is required) requires a clear and dry day. Should the weather not be working in our favor on the day of the appointment, we will be in touch to reschedule a better date to complete the job.
For more intricate, difficult, or jobs that require special equipment or additional staff, there may be additional charges, e.g. hiring of a cherry picker.
If possible could you please send a few photos of the top of the chimney in relation to the ground along with an indication of your preferred method of bird proofing, you can attach them to the form below. This will help us determine the best and safest way to gain access to the roof and flue for installation.
